Co-combustion technology of coal and wood waste (Технология совместного сжигания бурого угля и биомассы (древесных отходов))

The article considers the possibility of using wood and agricultural waste as fuel in large and small boilers. Existing co-combustion technologies of low-grade fuels (lignite and moist  wood waste) have some disadvantages resulting with incomplete utilization of their energy.

The article considers the possibility of using wood and agricultural waste as fuel in large and small boilers. Existing co-combustion technologies of low-grade fuels (lignite and moist wood waste) have some disadvantages resulting with incomplete utilization of their energy. One of modern technologies providing emission reductions is the co-combustion of coal and solid fuels from plant biomass. The results of experiments on the combustion of non-traditional fuels are presented in this article. The paper presents a reconstruction of the steam boiler BKZ-75-39-440 for co-combustion of bark and wood waste with brown coal.

A steam boiler BKZ-75-39-440 for combustion of biomass fuels in utility boilers of large capacity (Bratsk, the Russian Federation) is presented in this article. New technologies are tested in operating plant. The result of this work is improving the methods of thermal recycling of plant waste and involving it as a fuel in the boilers. The swirling-type furnace has been developed for co-combustion of coal and biomass, stabilizing combustion and increasing effectiveness.
